sounds like they are being overdramatic about all of this. There is no reason for this argument to get out of hand as much as it did. It was just a tiff that was blown up to something huge. If they are going to let a friendship go so easy than they really may not be that great of friends. I have a MacBook original [not pro] and I tried to install a very simple application called "Happy House Virtual Rodent" it's not highly important that I install it... but I was hoping to get it to work none the less. It seems to install properly but when it appears on my screen, I get a no symbol (the circle with a slash through it) and that is it and it is a greyscale image. When I tried to open it, I got the error message "You can not open the application Happy House because it is not supported on this system" however, I know it is specifically encoded for Macs. The only errors I can think of that may have caused this- are that it is a kind of old program and may not work on newer Mac computers and also that the application is ".sea" not being a huge computer person I'm not sure if that makes any difference. Can someone tell me why I'm not able to run it and/or how I could possibly run the application?

How to address someone telling you what is wrong and right with your parenting?

I have a friend who recently became pregnant and all of sudden thinks it's okay to put in her 2 cents about how my husband and I parent our son. We give him fruit as a snack (banana and orange) and she tells us that fruit should only be a dessert because of how sweet it is. She baby sat him one evening at our home and told us we need more educational toys for him (uh we have tons, we just didn't take them all out when she came over) he is potty training and after months of having number 2 accidents and trying every reward tactic, we found offering him a dum dum sucker as a reward does the trick and he has not had an accident since. We got a lecture on that one saying we should give him a sticker. Yes, in a perfect world I agree with her on that one, but we also need to do what works for our kids. How fun for you to be able to decorate your room. If you love color then use it, but just be careful which shade you use. Use a more muted shade of colors you like to keep it looking more adult. If you must have a very bright color, paint one accent wall and keep the others more neutral. Definitely bring in the funky accessories because that is where you can let your personality shine. I would limit those items to smaller accessories and throw pillows because they are easier and cheaper to swap out when your style changes. Keep the big things like your bedding neutral. It's cheaper to change all the color around it than to buy a new bedding set when you want a change. Mane and tail detangler?

If the tail or mane is matted badly (witches knot), then I have always used plain old corn oil that you can buy in any grocery store. Pour it over the knot (use the whole bottle), let it soak in, and then starting at the bottom, gently comb out. To keep the mane and tail smooth and tangle free, I use the Tangle Wrangler brush since it does not break the hair, and buy Suave products by the truckload. Works the same (if not better) than all of the expensive horse shampoos and copnditioners at a fraction of the cost. As far as spray in conditioner goes, I prefer the Premier Prodcuts rose spray. Daily brushing will actually do more than anything to keep out the tangles and will stimulate the hair growth. I have groomed for 25 years and this is what has always worked best for me. Good Luck!

It's really hard to know exactly what it is without hearing it, here are a few likley possibilites. You may have something as minor as a weak hydraulic lifter, after the oil warms up it allows the lifter to pump up making the noise go away. You may also have a rod knock this is much more serious, a rod knock is caused by excesive oil clearance between the connecting rod journal and bearing. If this is the case the engine should not be driven, the oil pan should be pulled and the rod caps should be plasti gauged to determine which rod bearing is bad, more likley than not the crankshaft would have to be removed, machined, and oversized bearing installed. Another possibility is a piston wrist pin, or a broken piston skirt. From my experience with ebay a lot of people like to play dumb, they know exactly what the problem is and how major and costly it will be to repair, so they put it on ebay and say I think there might be something minor wrong with the car, but I'm not sure. Bottom line, worst case senario the engine will have to be pulled, machined, and rebuilt, and reinstalled. My guess 1000-1500 if you intend to do most of the work, Think more like 3000 if you plan to have someone else do it. If it is the oil screen It would have low to no oil pressure until the engine warmed and the oil thined out allowing it to p through the clogged screen. If the screen is 100% clogged the engine would have no oil pressure ever, and after about 5-20mins of running would seize. My guess is the pan could be pulled in a matter of a few hours to determine if the screen is clogged on not, and If he suspected this why hasn't he had the pan pulled and inspected, this would cost only a few hundred dollars at a shop and if it was the problem the pickup tube and strainer replaced $40 dollar part, or Cleaned (free) and he could be back on the road, instead of taking a 2-3 thousand dollar loss selling it on ebay needing repair. One time my friend bought a truck displaying the same symptoms as this Dodge, it to was a 4X4 truck, it had no rattle only low oil pressure. The cause was found to be the oil pan had been crushed and pushed into the oil pick up tube (while 4 wheeling I ume) This may also be the case, but if the car would have had a rod knock as well fixing the oil pan would not have made the rod knock go away. Good luck, if you live near the truck check it out before bidding so you can hear the sound yourself, or take a motor head friend of yours along, anyone with a fair amount of automotive knowledge will be able to distinguish a rod knock from a collapsed lifter.

What is the cost to replace the crank shaft on a 1997 Suzuki Side Kick?

My son just invested $650.00 having a tune up, filter changes, wire changes and a new catalytic converter on his 1997 Sidekick. It has been a very dependable rig until now. Not long after having this work done it started running odd. My son and his friends thought it might be the timing. We took it to a good mechanic and he says the problem is with the crank shaft. They will have to remove the engine to get to it. The ball park figure for the parts is $350.00 and $75.00 an hour for the labor. Anyone have an idea how long this would take to fix it? We are hoping it won't go over $1000.00.

I want to sue my Psychiatrist but do I have a case?

I began seeing a psychiatrist last year around this time. My weight was very low (110 5'5") but by October I was up to around 124 and I was ok with that weight. I have had weight issues before and did not want to gain anymore. My doctor, knowing my issues with weight, started me on a medicine around the end of October. Between then and March my weight had ballooned up to 160 pounds. He never told me the side effect of the medicine because I would not have taken it if I knew the side effects. Now I have social anxiety, I don't go out in public and rarely (very rarely) see my friends because I don't want anyone to see me this way. I used to love my body but now it makes me cry at night. Do I have grounds to sue for emotional damage or punitive damages? We had a blast this morning. I took my babies to the local fair and they had a great time. My daughter made a cute Canadian flag and played with the animals in the petting zoo. Can I take up and reuse clickable floors once the've been put down?

I have this guy putting down a floating wood floor. He's not done yet, but we've already noticed that it is seriosly squishy in the hallway. I know the reason. When I did the prepwork, I found that there was a different kind of subfloor in the hallyway and there was some black rubber stuff over it. It was a real pain to remove, so I talked about it with the contractor and he said that as a matter of height difference, it was probably doable. There is a somewhat noticeable difference in the level when you walk into the hallway, but it's not a huge deal. The real problem is that it is seriously squishy there. In contrast to the living room, it feels like you are walking on a cushion and you can see the wood depressing as someone walks across it. I really don't feel like putting any more money toward this right now. I wish the contractor had told me it might be like that if we didn't remove all that black stuff. I'm wondering what options I might have. Has anyone ever taken clickable floors up? Can I put it back down after I take it up? Or will it be better if, after I put the base board back on, I put it on good and tight?

I own a very old car (1988 ford taurus) and it has an automatic transmission. My opinion is South Korea because of the support of the United States military. I think if North Korea invaded the south, they would make progress for a short time, as in the Korean War, and then they would lose by no air support, supplies, ect. The US would bomb the hell out of all their Navy bases and Air bases. I think on the situation now, if China stayed out of it, and the North was all alone against the United Nations, they wouldn't have a chance and would lose pretty quickly. Their military morale would be a factor as well. I don't think their missile guidence systems are good enough to hit with accuracy. HAIR COLOR question: Developer or activating lotion?

Hey, I'm going to do a brave/stupid thing and color over my recently faded highlights (which have faded from a rich burgundy in my black hair to a bry orange--yeesh). I bought Wella Color Charm Demi-Permanent Hair Color in fiery red and I know I have to mix two parts developer, one part color. But I just looked in their "guidebook" and it says to use two parts "activating lotion"?? They have a separate developer (10 volume, 20 volume, etc) and a separate "activating lotion." In the guidebook directions they only mention using 2 parts of the lotion and one part color, none of the developer; but everywhere else I look for directions, it says to use DEVELOPER (10-or 20-volume) to mix with the hair color. Which should I mix with the hair color, the activating lotion, the developer, or both? Or does it not matter? Is Wella Color Charm the only "activating lotion" out there (I don't think that would be the case, like it's a special product of Wella's, but then what's the developer for?)

My APBT loved to swim and he loved me, but he hated the bath tub so my solution was to get in the shower with him. As long as you have the kind of shower head on a hose, it should be real easy to get him wet, soap him up and rinse him. Be sure to turn the water off and let him stand for a couple of minutes so he can shake off real good before you try to get him out of the shower stall. It will save you a big mess later

If you are a kid and are just starting out, this really is not a bad first piece. Remember, nobody writes their masterpiece on the first try. If you want to learn to write poetry, or stories, or whatever, the best thing you can do is READ. Read A LOT. Ask your teacher or librarian to help you find some good poetry that is suitable for your age. See what you like about it. Don't just say, "this is good." Try to figure out WHY it is good. Keep a journal so that you can practice a lot. Talk with other people who are interested in poetry (they are a little hard to find, but they are out there). I think you have some pretty good ideas here. Keep it up.

I think that the brain has developed beyond this and that it is impossible to return to having women being dragged around by their hair. If for no other reason that women would kill the man as he slept. The brain is much larger now in general but men would still need women more than women needed men. My dog is attached to his food bowl?

My 2 year old Shih-tzu male is attached to his food bowl. I never bother him when he is eating, but when he finishes, I like to take his plate up and wash it. When I reach for it, he growls and shows all of his teeth and there is nothing left in his plate. I have to get the broom and rake the plate to me and while I am doing this he is barking and constantly biting at the broom. We go through this everyday, every week, every month. How can I break him from being attached to his bowl. I even tried changing bowls but it did not help. And he won't take s. hi i have an emachines desktop computer that isnt starting up. so heres what happend i shut it down and i had to unplug it, it was unplugged for about an hour, when i plugged it back in i pressed the power on and absolutly nothing happend. ive tried a few things --- its not the power box, its not the power on, its not the wall socket, ive tried taking out the ram and startin it up and that didnt work, so im guessing its the motherboard but theres a green light on the motherboard thats lit up when the power supply is connected.

Stomach growls every day in cl. I need help!?

Okay, ever since i was near the end of my 6th grade year when i got the flu, my stomach's digestion has made itself known. My friends always stare at how i eat granola bars full of sweets. and like 4 a day. I can barely go an hour without food in my stomach. Sadly, i only eat cereal because I'd eat a better bigger breakfast at school, but in high school I've stopped eating at the school. My problems of my cereal not lasting is one, I have gym first period, so my energy is gone by the end of the period. Then for 2nd, i've got sign language and we don't TALK AT ALL IN THERE, so it's dead quiet in there and not the place for a stomach to growl. Every other cl is fine, but i still have at least 3 granola bars in the morning and one after lunch when my stomach still growls and hurts, though my dad says your stomach cant hurt when your stomach growls unless your dying from hunger. And right after lunch, when my stomach's digestion or whatever is its loudest and when we have test its awful! Also, TAKS test and PSATs are happening on and off and i won't be able to eat ANYTHING without getting notice or thought of "cheating" so i'm trying to tame my stomach. and though 4-6 months is pretty far away it comes faster than you think. I've been taking gas relievers, but i can only take 4 a day and that amount doesn't work with my unusual eating times. Can anyone help? My dad's trying to get me a doctor's appointment, but he has to be there and my mom won't do anything. She doesn't even believe me. Any tips to help me. P.S. in the morning, when i don't feel so hungry and you'd think its a good sign, its not. My stomach is way worse by the time lunch comes and my stomach won't shut up at all for the rest of the day, even after i eat. Which makes dieting to loose my big and to lose those last pounds to get back in the "healthy zone" harder. Can anyone help?

Would it be wise to put my two indoor cats outside?

About four months ago a neighborhood cat left her kittens on my doorstep and I never had the heart to give them away (I bottle fed them, they basically ume I'm their mom). My kittens, Sara and Gizmo, are approximately five months old. I've had kittens before and put all of them outside but I'm having second thoughts about putting my two babies outside. I have other pets - three other cats and a poodle. The kittens are okay with the cats but react extremely negative towards the poodle. Gizmo will often hiss and spit at Penny (our poodle). The dealer said that it might be because of the smps since the power supply might not be sufficient for the above configuration but i doubt it might be the ram because while playing NFSMW it restarted midway into the game because had it been a smps problem then the system should have shut down completely but it restarted some of my gaming friends suggested that it might be the ram acting up.Does anyone have any suggestion as to what to do about this problem?

One of the issues I have with every election lies with these seemingly unimportant issues cropping up every election. What do I care if some gay person gets married or has a civil union; it in no way affects me. I also don't think it affects the vast majority of Americans (unless the person happens to be gay). Then, I balance this against things that to me seem to be truly important. I watched the news this morning and heard that US high schools have a drop out rate of 33%; truly sad. My cat has a hard lump under his chin?

Today I noticed that my cat has a pea to small marble sized hard lump under his chin. It does not seem squishy or movable. He recently, about a month ago, had a urethrostomy due to bladder problems and he and I just moved to a new home this weekend. He has been off all meds for about 4 weeks now and he is using a new food and water dish until I get his old ones from the old place. It seems like it may possibly bother him. He does not like me touching it but does not go berserk when I try. I want to take him to the vet but due to his surgery I have a rather larger vet bill and honestly have no money to pay for a visit and more lab work. What should I do and does ANYONE know what it could be? Oh and I don't think its an abscessed tooth because the vet has always said he had healthy teeth but I still won't rule it out yet!
