Should I live in Kansas city, KS or Kansas City, Mo

I hear that the two sides or different. I'm a 24 year old filmmaker moving to the area and I wanna know where would be the best place for me to live.. and does it snow a lot in Kansas city because I'm from the south and I always wanted to have a snowy Christmas.
