Is it wrong to put my 20 month old into his crib in his room for a time-out?

I would use a more neutral spot, like the playpen so he doesn't start to hate or fear his crib. But you are supposed to place them in a secure location, with a 15 second explanation of why they are there, and then leave his/her site for 2-4 minutes (as per my pediatrician).
