What width board should i use?

goin snowboarding on monday and my local hire centre only has a wide board in my length(157) there is a 153 that is narrower and i dont know what one to use, ive heard that wider boards are harder to turn because you cant get them onto the edge as easy. What would the drawbacks of getting a shorter board be? Anyone any advice? cheers
